Historic Vote Saturday Evening

All,

The House of Representatives is scheduled to vote Saturday evening on a historic health care reform bill.

This Saturday, Organizing For America volunteers will be canvassing neighborhoods around the state to urge supporters to call Congress THAT DAY to voice support for health care reform.  There are 14 canvasses in North Texas alone.  I hope you can come out to help make sure the phones on Capitol Hill are ringing off the hook.

The American people have been waiting decades for health care reform.  The time is now.  The weather looks to be brilliant. Come out and help push the bill over the finish line.  Please also reach out and call Rep. Jeb Hensarling at 202-225-3484 to let him know you support this health reform bill.

There is a local canvass in Lake Highlands from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday – click below for details on any of the North Texas events.

Election Day Tomorrow

Hello Fellow Democrats,

It has been just about a year since we elected a Democrat for the White House and secured gains for our party in most levels of government.  While tomorrow’s election has fewer actual candidates, it does have important constitutional amendments I encourage you to get familiar with.  The League of Women Voters of Texas resource for the amendments is located at:  http://www.lwvtexas.org/2009VG/2009CAVG[FINAL].pdf

A sample ballot can be viewed at:  http://www.dalcoelections.org/nov32009/SampleBallot.pdf (the DISD and other municipality races do not apply to our precinct)

We (precinct 2207) will vote tomorrow (November 3, 2009) at Merriman Park Elementary School, located at 7101 Winedale Drive (at Walnut Hill Lane) from 7am to 7pm.

Democratically yours,

Jason Mattox
